TIVAR® UHMW-PE Bunker Linings
In today’s power stations unlined Coal Bunkers often suffer from blockages caused by smaller sizes of indigenous and imported coal. Nowadays reduced manpower means that often there is not enough people on hand to constantly keep these bunkers free from blockages. Coal failure is now seen as one of the biggest challenges facing Coal Fired Power Generators. In certain cases this can have an adverse effect on the capability to generate power to specified levels and can compromise safety of the workforce and the plant.
The use of a TIVAR® UHMW-PE Bunker Lining at a number of power stations including Ratcliffe, Ferrybridge, Fiddlers Ferry, Aberthaw to name a few, has greatly improved the coal flow and helped to achieve virtually 100% free flow of coal through the bunkers.
Industries which move materials through bunkers will benefit from TIVAR® linings. TIVAR’s low coefficient of friction, high abrasion and corrosion resistance, and nil water absorption helps to promote the free flow of cohesive materials.
As such a TIVAR® UHMW-PE Bunker Lining improves the handling of materials like
- Carbon Black
- De sulphured Gypsum
- Titanium Dioxide
- Fly Ash
- Wood Chips
- Iron Ore
On Site Installation Services
Our design and installation team can analyse your bulk handling problems, design and plan an effective solution using TIVAR®. We can then manufacture and install into new handling equipment or alternatively we can install TIVAR® linings into existing bulk handling equipment on-site.
